D.A.R.E. Program

The D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program is a school-based initiative where police officers are introduced into the classroom to help students learn the importance of making safe and responsible decisions. Our Current D.A.R.E. officers are Officer Dan Huestis and Officer DiVeglio who visit all students in the 2nd, 4th and 5th grades in the Camel Central School District. Younger students focus on safety where older students learn about the dangers of alcohol, tobacco and drugs. A great deal of emphasis concentrates on positive decision making skills as well as awareness of such issues like bullying, peer pressure, and the dangers of prescription drugs.
