Code Enforcement Officer

In an effort to preserve the beauty and safety of our Town and to enhance property values it should be everybody's desire to comply with Town Zoning and other codes.

The most common violations investigated by the Code Enforcement Officer are as follows:

Building Permits - Required for any structure including tents with an exception for fencing which is properly positioned in compliance with local Zoning Codes.

Call the Building Department (845)-225-3900 for guidance and application for permits.

Site Plans - A site plan must be sought from the Planning Board of the Town of Kent for new construction or change of use in any land or structure.

Illegal and possibly dangerous apartments.

Abandoned Vehicles - Described as UNREGISTERED AND/OR UNINSPECTED vehicles parked outdoors on any site in the Town of Kent.

Littering - Residents or Owners must maintain premises free of excess metal, trash or wood.
